Adobe Acrobat PDF. The Redwide® is a rugged external wide angle passive
infrared detector. It is designed to provide reliable
intruder detection at distances of up to
50 metres over a 30 degree span. These detectors are
ideal for use as motion detection devices for CCTV
systems. They can be used to activate video transmission systems, position, pan & tilt or dome cameras, or alert
an operator to movement in a specific area.
OPERATION
Detection is achieved by monitoring changes of far infrared levels in the sensor’s field of view. The Redwide® is a single ended device and therefore does not require a transmitter or receiver at the far end of the area to be protected. It is totally passive and does not emit any transmission to achieve detection.
The detector’s tri-channel processors use three dual-element sensors and digital logic processing. This ensures reliable multi-zone protection over a wide ambient temperature range.
