Sitewatch Monitoring:

Remote Video Response Centre

A brief introduction to our Sitewatch CCTV monitoring service

Traditionally, many businesses have felt the best approach to achieving proactive security solutions was to invest their trust in manned guarding.  Leave the security and safekeeping of their business and premises in the ‘competent hands’ of a night watchman or security guard(s).

Whilst this method clearly still has a vital role to play for some applications, CCTV technology has advanced so far that there is now a better way in most instances.

Crime Prevention Services Ltd operates a Sitewatch Remote Video Response Centre (“RVRC”), from where client CCTV systems throughout the country are monitored.

What do we mean by ‘Technology’?
We mean electronic systems:

  • CCTV cameras and alarm detection devices are strategically placed externally around your premises to give you protection from unwanted visitors.  The ‘eyes & ears’ so to speak.
  • Anyone attempting to access your site will be detected and trigger an alarm.  The appropriate camera(s) to the violated area(s) will be activated, to relay the video images
  • Instantly, the system dials up our RVRC and transmits the video images to us for assessment
  • Connection is made within seconds.  Trained to recognise and interpret events, the Operator will assess and action the most suitable response.  This can vary from an audio warning, right through to contacting a key holder or to calling the emergency services to respond to a visually confirmed crime-in-progress.

" We have out-of-hours activity needing supervision.  We need a guard. "
If you have a lot of activity:  for example, regular deliveries; weighbridge duties; then perhaps a manned presence is unavoidable.

If, however, it is a matter of allowing the occasional caller access and perhaps opening/closing access gates for them then our RVRC maybe a more cost effective method.

  • An intercom at the entry point can call through to our RVRC.  We hold two-way conversation to validate their purpose & attend to their needs
  • A service procedure of authenticity is established, to which we abide
  • Motorised Gates/Barriers can be operated remotely via the system as if we are there.  It’s only a remote control relay to be operated
  • And remember its all caught on camera

" Our drivers leave early and need the gates opened for them."
Again, the scale of activity perhaps makes having a Guard unavoidable, regardless of just how great an overhead cost he represents to the business.

If, though, it’s simply a case of drivers arrive to collect their vehicle and be away ASAP we can probably accommodate that on a self-service basis.

Perhaps not even a need to involve the RVRC Operators.

  • An access control system with readers to validate and gain entry & exit
  • Automatic open & close of gates/barriers
  • Automated temporary isolation (full or partial, subject to risk) of the CCTV transmission system whilst on-site to avoid our unnecessary involvement
  • Who needs a guard for this?  And remember its all caught on camera

" We leave loaded vehicles, full of stock and needing to be looked after."
Then a technology-based solution has to be better for you.
Our Sitewatch cameras and alarm detectors are everywhere all of the time, ready to react to and report each and every trespass or violation of your protected area the moment they are activated.  They never:

  • Go to sleep
  • Get intimidated
  • Get distracted

The application of valuable or vulnerable stock needing protection, especially when stored externally or in vehicles, is tailor-made for video transmission.  It is proven to be more effective and most certainly is more cost-effective than the night watchman alternative.

Why are our Operators more reliable than a man on site?
Many reasons.

Firstly they work within a controlled environment where everything they see, everything they say, and everything they do in handling each reported event is recorded.  A full audit trail of each action and the response time is irrevocably created.  No hiding places or excuses!

Secondly, each Operator is highly trained in the recognition and interpretation of events and works in a supervised environment as part of a committed team.

And not least, they work in a pleasant, high tech environment where we believe it is easy to keep staff motivated and proud of what they do and the responsibility they shoulder in the performance of their work

Compared with the lone worker, low paid alternative?
No comparison.

Why do we believe it is more cost effective?
It’s not a case of us believing it is more cost effective, we know it is! If you have a security guard on site for, say, 12 hours per day, 7 days per week it is an overhead cost to your business running into tens of thousands of £’s per annum.

A technology-based solution will be a fraction of this and because the RVRC operating costs are recovered across hundreds of protected sites, our monitoring fees are extraordinarily reasonable.  We are, after all, only on line to you when needed, reacting to the system activation.  And when we are not on line to you all site activity is being recorded onto DVR.

" How do I find out more and what my requirements might be? "
Contact us.

We offer an all-inclusive service from risk assessment and system design through to installation and commissioning.  Thereafter, your installed system is registered with the police and our RVRC monitoring service commences.

Security in partnership you might say!
